Je prépare un ouvrage sur l'histoire d'une commune de France et de ses habitants durant la dernière guerre. J'ai pu identifier les lieux de détention des prisonniers de guerre originaires de cette commune mais les kommandos me posent problème. Je vous envoie la liste au cas où vous auriez des pistes à me suggérer.

I am preparing a book on the history of a commune in France and its inhabitants during the last war. I was able to identify the places of detention of prisoners of war from this county but I have problem with kommandos. I send you the list if you have tracks to recommend.

D’autre part, mes recherches dans les archives françaises m’avaient permis d’identifier quelques commandos. Auriez-vous également quelques informations à leur sujet :
Stalag VIIA : Kommando 3 = Fraüendorf (culture)
Usine de guerre de Magdebourg (kommando 544 du stalag XIA)
Fabr Maring ( ???) Braunschweig (kommando 1463 du stalag XIB)

On the other hand, my research in French archives allowed me to identify some commandos. Would you also like some information about them:

Stalag VIIA: Kommando Frauendorf = 3 (culture)
War Factory Magdeburg (kommando 544 of Stalag XIA)
Fabr Maring (?) Braunschweig (1463 kommando of Stalag XIB)

Please check our kommando list for the data we have gathered so far. You'll see that many locations are missing. Does "2-260" mean 2260 or 2 to 260?

I can't find a place called "Frauendorf" near Moosburg. Might it be Fraunberg near Erding? Does "culture" mean agriculture?

I don't have more informations. The place named on the paper i have found in french archives is Frauendorf. And "culture" means "agriculture". Do you have informations about the other commandos of my research ?

For your first question, i'm sorry but i d'on't have any answer. I thnik it's 2260 but i'm not sure.

Oh, it seems that you replied while I added some lines to my post. No, I'm afraid that the info on our page is all we have. Did you consult: "Mattiello, Gianfranco / Vogt, Wolfgang: Deutsche Kriegsgefangenen- und Internierteneinrichtungen 1939-1945. 1-2. Koblenz 1986-1987"?

The two kommandos of VIIA are not in your list unfortunately for me.
And in France i don't know where i can find this book and i don't speak german.

Try to get it via interlibrary loan (prêt entre bibliothèques) from Germany. It's just a list of Stalags and kommandos based on POW letters. Maybe you'll find the missing places there. Or write to Bundesarchiv-Militärarchiv.
